There was a long wait because we went on Sunday during peak brunch hours, but it moved pretty quickly! I would say the place is really coquette and unique--I love the elements of the plating and the atmosphere. We ordered the chicken karage, the omurice, rose matcha latte, and matcha soufflé pancakes. The chicken karage was so delicious and crispy, it was bone-in too which I liked! Although I'm not the biggest fan of omurice I loved it and it was cooked to perfection. The matcha items were also great and tasted authentic; the soufflé pancakes tasted like asian cake and the matcha cream on top really brought it together. I was so full and satisfied after this meal and I would come back in a heartbeat

Vert Frais is a must try Japanese cafe and brunch spot! I went alone on a hot day for lunch and had such a nice experience. The drinks look so amazing online but taste just as good as they look. I got the rose matcha latte because of how it looks but was surprised that it tasted good and not too artificial. Normally I don't like floral flavored foods like rose or lavender but this was not like that at all. I was deciding between the omurice and the ramen and I am so glad I got the omurice because it was AMAZING! Such a hearty meal with the bacon fried rice underneath and the soft omelette and tomato sauce on top. It could probably feed two but I ate it all myself. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Highly recommend this place for the drinks but the food is just as good! I would love to come back and try the pancakes or the ramen.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to come to Vert Frais! The vibe was nice, and the food is absolutely delectable! We were a party of 7 and had come here as soon as it opened on a Saturday. The line was immediately out the door and for good reason. The hype is real because the food checked all my boxes in terms of flavor, presentation, and quality. We ordered a bunch of items as a group, but we shared the chicken karaage, and this is a must try. I ordered their hamburg steak as my main and it was chef's kiss amazing!!! The beef patty was cooked to perfection and the demi-glace really took the dish to the next level. We also had the Vert Frais Matcha soufflé pancake and the Crème Anglais soufflé to share. The Crème Anglais item was my favorite out of the two. All in all, I would definitely put Vert Frais on my top brunch spots in NY, and will absolutely be coming back!

Cute Japanese brunch place located in LIC! There will be a line during weekend brunch service so be prepared to wait. DO order the lattes - very flavorful & IG worthy. I have to say that the fried chicken was pretty good - each piece was super crispy & juicy. The Japanese hamburger platter was also delish - the meat well spiced & slathered with their homemade sauce. The greens complimented the meat well - fresh & crisp. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with was the matcha soufflé pancake. Don't get me wrong - the flavor was there but I expected a little bit more bounce. Overall, Vert Frais is worth the trip but be sure to give enough time to include wait time & you do need to be okay with slightly cramp spacing!
